MedParent is a family run tuition centre built on a shared passion for education, academic excellence, and mentorship. Founded by siblings with strong backgrounds in science, medicine, and teaching, MedParent was created to provide high-quality, personalised tuition that genuinely supports students in reaching their full potential.

With a combined over 25 years of teaching experience, our family has supported hundreds of students across GCSE and A-Level Maths and Sciences, helping many achieve top grades and secure places on competitive courses such as Medicine and Dentistry at leading UK universities.
Our tutors are not only academically accomplished but also deeply committed to student wellbeing. With experience as school counsellors, year leaders, medical educators, and academic researchers, we understand how to adapt our approach to suit every learner.

Umar – Founder & Creator of MedParent
2nd Year Medical Student at Warwick Medical School
Umar is the Founder and Creator of MedParent, bringing over 13 years of teaching experience across Maths and Science. His passion for education began early, starting to teach Mathematics from Year 9 while still at school, supporting younger students and developing a strong foundation in mentoring and academic guidance. Umar now also teaches medical students at Warwick Medical School and achieved the Warwick Doctor Award: Innovation and Creativity for helping first year medical students with their education.

Academically, Umar holds a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences from Royal Holloway, University of London, and an MSc (Hons) Global Health, Infection and Immunity from St George’s, University of London. He is currently studying MBChB Medicine at Warwick Medical School, where he is in his second year.
​
Umar specialises in teaching GCSE and A-Level Maths and Science, combining strong subject knowledge with a clear, structured teaching approach. Over the years, he has supported numerous students in achieving top grades, with many going on to study Medicine and Dentistry at leading universities including King’s College London, UCL, Warwick University, and the University of Bristol.

His teaching philosophy centres on clarity, confidence building, and helping students reach their full academic potential through personalised and supportive learning.
Waj - Education Lead
4th Year Medical Student at Brighton University
Wajeeh is the Educational Lead at MedParent with nearly 10 years of teaching experience. He is actively involved in medical education and currently teaches doctors in Brighton up to ST5 level, reflecting his strong academic depth and clinical insight. Alongside teaching, Wajeeh has contributed to multiple academic publications and is presently working on a publication focused on Colorectal Cancer.

Wajeeh holds a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences from Queen Mary, University of London, and an MSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences from King’s College London. He is currently studying MBBS Medicine at Brighton University, where he is in his fourth year.
​
Renowned for his detailed and methodical teaching style, Wajeeh takes time to break down complex concepts using clear explanations and hand-drawn diagrams, ensuring students fully understand the material rather than memorising it. His approach is particularly valued by students aiming for excellence in both academic and clinical settings.
Mariyam - Course Tutor
1st Year Biomedical Science at Roehampton University
Mariyam is a Course Tutor at MedParent with 3 years of teaching experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level tuition. Having achieved top grades in her own GCSEs and A-Levels, she brings both academic excellence and recent exam insight to her teaching.
Alongside tutoring, Mariyam has previously been involved as a School Counsellor and Year Leader, roles that have strengthened her ability to communicate effectively with younger students, provide guidance, and explain complex concepts in an accessible and reassuring manner.

She is currently studying BSc Biomedical Sciences at Roehampton University and aspires to pursue a PhD in the future, with a strong academic interest in Phamaceutical Research.

Mariyam is known for her friendly and approachable tutoring style, while also ensuring that challenging concepts are thoroughly understood. She takes the time to reinforce difficult topics, helping students build confidence and long-term understanding rather than short-term memorisation.
Abdullah - Course Tutor
2nd Year Biomedical Science at Roehampton University
Abdullah is a Course Tutor at MedParent with 2 years of teaching experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level tuition. Having achieved top grades himself, he is passionate about passing on the study methods and techniques that contributed to his success, helping younger students develop effective and sustainable learning strategies.

During his time at school, Abdullah served as a School Counsellor, giving him a strong understanding of how to support students academically while being mindful of their individual needs and challenges.
​
He is currently studying BSc Biomedical Sciences at Roehampton University and will soon be pursuing MB ChB Medicine at Warwick University, alongside his brother Umar.

Abdullah is particularly known for his patience and personalised teaching approach, tailoring each lesson to target a student’s weaker areas and building core concepts step by step. This ensures students gain a solid understanding of the entire topic and develop long term academic confidence.
